Abstract: Hangzhou is a city of leisure, and there is even a constructive proposition to commend Hangzhou as a capital of tea. The similarity between connotation of tea culture and profoundness of leisure unites tea and leisure perfectly. And the leisure represented by tea, is a kind of tradition taking ‘Hypostatical Union’ as a prerequisite. However, meanings of modern still gift it. So considering tea as the leisure symbol of Hangzhou city, is not only suitable to its history and style, but also reflecting its modern culture and city spirit. Consequently, analyzing with a professional view on what need to be improved in the construction of tea’s capital, would be indicative to accomplish social functions. That is, to develop the facilities as well as the typical image of a tea culture city is essential.
