Abstract: This article Studies the outstanding Chinese poet Yuan Mei who was born in Hangzhou in the earlier Qing Dynasty, especially his theory on leisure in the gardens and leisure practice.. Poet like Yuan Mei who bought the land ,built the garden, rebuilt the garden, appreciated the garden, wrote lots of things about the garden, lived in the garden as long as half a century, buried his parents, wives and himself in his own garden, bound his works, his social contacts together with the garden built by himself was really the first person in the history of Chinese leisure in gardens.
