According to the spirit of Notice on Circulating 'Comments on Implementing City, County, and Township Organizational Reform in Zhejiang Province, by CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Zhejiang Provincial People's Government (Zhewei (2001) No. 5) as well as the decision of Hangzhou Municipal Party Committee and Hangzhou Municipal People's Government, the Office of the Organizing Committee of Hangzhou West Lake Expo (hereinafter abbreviated as the Municipal West Lake Expo Office) added Hangzhou Municipal Office for Coordinating the Development of the Convention and Exhibition Industry (hereinafter abbreviated as the Municipal Office for Coordinating the Development of the Convention and Exhibition Industry). The Municipal West Lake Expo Office is the standing working body of the Organizing Committee of the West Lake Expo, a public institution at the bureau level directly affiliated to the Municipal Government.

(I) To strengthen its function to organize, guide, supervise and coordinate large-scale festival activities in the city;
(II) To strengthen its function to organize, guide, supervise and coordinate the development of the convention and exhibition industry in the city.

II. Main Responsibilities

According to the above function adjustment, the main working responsibilities of the West Lake Expo Office (the Municipal Office for Coordinating the Development of the Convention and Exhibition Industry) include:
(I) Be responsible for the general planning of the West Lake Expo and comprehensive coordination of its routine work.
(II) Handle the application of the West Lake Expo projects, provide guidance and supervision to the organization and implementation of the projects.
(III) Be responsible for financing the West Lake Expo, and managing the funds, assets and investment of the Expo.
(IV) Take charge of the routine work of the Organizing Committee of the West Lake Expo, and play a role in leading and coordinating the work of its working bodies.
(V) Study and work out the plan for developing the city's convention and exhibition industry; study and draft local laws and regulations concerning the development of the convention and exhibition industry; take charge of the application for approval for large-scale conferences, exhibitions and festivals.
(VI) Be responsible for organizing, guiding, coordinating and managing large-scale conferences, exhibitions and festival activities; organize and conduct external exchange and cooperation for the convention, exhibition and festival celebration industry.
(VII) Take charge of other work entrusted by the Municipal Party Committee, the Municipal Government and the Organizing Committee of the West Lake Expo.
