On 9 th , July, two-week activities of One-thousand-islet Lake theme opened in Hangzhou Exhibition Hall.

In the opening ceremony, artists from Chun'an put on a folk performance for visitors. The first program was called Bamboo Horse Dance which is traditional folk performance in One-thousand-islet Lake , Chun'an, tracing back to Ming Dynasty. The performance of stone seven-stringed plucked instrument brought more surprise to visitors. The culture of stone seven-stringed plucked instrument dated from South Song Dynasty.

Japanese Ballet Danced in World Leisure Expo Garden (2006-8-8)

On the afternoon of 3rd, August, many Japanese "swans" danced in atrium of tropical forest in World Leisure Expo Garden .

Maldives is located in the Indian Ocean waters and is composed of 1190 islands.

30th July was the country day which was held by Maldives that set up the first country exhibition hall. With folk music from tropical area and special dances, songs and applause lasted a long time at the Saint Marco Square in World Leisure Expo Garden .

Japanese Drums Appear in World Leisure Expo Garden (2006-8-1)

10am. 30 th , July, strains of music accompanied by drumbeats spreading from Old Castle Square in World Leisure Expo Garden attracted a large number of visitors.

The drums band comes from Shizuoka Japan . The members of the band wore Japanese style clothes which have a big "kui" character at the back. Accompanying with the music of flute, members beat the drums into songs such as "Peach Blossom", " Sea Wind", "Kui" and " Big Drum" etc.

The last performance was called "RAIDO" which used big drums, moderate drums, small drums, mini-drums and waist drums . The band invited audiences to take part in this performance on the stage. Ms. Zhou, a visitor from Shanghai , attended the performance with highly sprite that she cried "SO", "HAI" as the same as band ' s members. Attracted by culture of Japanese big drum, she liked it very much, Ms Zhou said.

Thailand Splashing-water Festival Was Held at World Leisure Expo Garden(2006-7-28)

On the evening of 5 July, lots of foreign guests and Hangzhou residents got together to take part in the opening ceremony of 2 nd Zhejiang International Tourism Culture Festival and Thailand Splashing-water Festival at the first world great theatre of Hangzhou World Leisure Expo Garden. Monks from Thailand moved out golden figures of Buddha by music. Then, VIP guests splashed water to figures of Buddha which meant the opening of the festival. In the following, actors from all over the world put on traditional performances.Thailand Splashing-water Festival is going to be held after 5pm.from 5 July to 30 August at world leisure expo garden. With the ticket of 30 RMB, visitors can watch horse battle Genghis Khan and take part in Thailand splashing-water festival at 7.15pm . And moreover, visitors can go into the world carnival for free. In order to make evening tour convenient, three new evening bus lines have started. Residents can take bus from Yan'an Road , Yellow Dragon Sports Center and Xiong Zhenlou to World Leisure Expo Garden .
