STANDARD COMBINATION OF THE EMBLEM AND TITLE

The curling mist above West Lake can waft away the stress and bustle of life, allowing us to relax both physically and mentally. In this simple mood we can renew our vitality as well. The emblem's free-flowing, spontaneous lines vividly depict two overlapping scenes: a Zisha teapot and one of West Lake's famous views: "Three Pools Mirroring the Moon". Thus, it magically reflects the vision inherent in an 'Oriental Leisure Metropolis'. This vision is the living harmony between motion and stillness: a lofty distillation of the soul of China's leisure culture.

In addition to the great visual impact the emblem gives people, it also raises the theme of the World Leisure Expo 2006 to a higher level: Leisure allows our lives to maintain their novelty and freshness.

Image: The Three Pools Mirroring the Moon is a lustrous pearl emblematic of the exquisite scenery of West Lake. Intertwining with the image of the Zisha teapot, it produces a symbolic profile of Hangzhou, a city that has long been known as a 'Heaven on Earth'. In the flowing lines in the design of this logo, as well as in its spirit, the emblem becomes a concentration of all the beautiful scenery of Hangzhou. Brimming with vitality and strength, it is a chord in the music of this old, yet modern, city of culture. The logo of the World Leisure Exhibition is a clear expression that here you can possess a natural, humanely cultured life.

Philosophy: The idea of the vermilion color and the Zisha teapot is to present the inborn, traditional essence of the Chinese people, and to communicate the unique aesthetic quality of Chinese civilization as well as the spirit of its humane culture. The opening at the lower right corner expresses the changing form of the green leaves of Hangzhou's Dragon Well tea and the open, graceful character of the modern city and its people. It indicates an era of international mingling and intercommunication and shows that Hangzhou will warmly welcome friends from both China and abroad.

Quality: The harmony between red and green, between motion and stillness is the essence of the wisdom embodied by the Dao of tension and relaxation in Oriental Civilization. Only those who well know how to relax can work efficiently. Leisure is a flavor, an attitude toward life, and a source of vigor. This is the surprise gift that the Hangzhou World Leisure Expo will give to people.
