Social Events
During the 9 th World Leisure Congress, the Organizing Committee will arrange some excellent social events which show you the unique charm of Hangzhou --"the Oriental Leisure Capital" with the perfect integration of classic and modern, nature and culture. Celebrities from all walks of life will gather at the events, which provide you with fascinating opportunities for social activities.

Social Event Two
. Venue: the World Leisure Expo Garden

. Activity: the First World Show (performance)
. Dinner: Delegates will have dinner at the First World Hotel, located at the World Leisure Expo Garden .
The First World Show is a one-hour large-scale song and dance drama, with Marco Polo's sentiments towards China as its thread. It presents a panoramic view of the regional features, including the Kuahuqiao Culture of the Xiang Lake 8,000 years ago, the Wu and Yue Culture and the legend of Xishi, a famous beauty in the late Spring and Autumn Period. Staged on the 5,000-square-meter water in the theatre and utilizing Hi-tech sound, light and electric means, the Show brings audience with an excellent visual feast.

. West Lake & Leifeng Pagoda
Originally built in early Southern Song Dynasty, Leifeng Pagoda was once a landmark of the city of Hangzhou . "Leifeng Pagoda in Evening Glow" is one of the 10 Best Scenes of the West Lake . You can cruise on the West Lake and enjoy a distant view of the pagoda at sunset at the same time.
. West Lake & Xiling Seal-Engravers' Society
Gushan (Solitary Hill) is the only natural island on the West Lake . At least three emperors constructed palaces here. It is also the home of a well-known society of scholarship, the Xiling Seal-Engravers' Society.
3. West Lake & Lingyin Temple
Meaning "heart of the soul's retreat", Lingyin Temple was one of the biggest Buddhist Temples in Southeast China with a long history dating back to Tang Dynasty. Opposite the Temple is the "Peak Flying From Afar" where there are many stone statues of Buddha on the cliff in the limestone caves, 300 of which are well preserved from WuYe Kingdom to Yuan Dynasty.
4. West Lake & Liuhe Pagoda
The Liuhe Pagoda also known as "Six Harmonious Pagoda" was first built in AD970 against floods and for naval navigation. What we see today is a brick and wooden structure erected in the year of 1,153. The octagonal pagoda has seven stories and stands nearly 60 meters high. The interior features carved bricks. One may have a panoramic view of the landscape along the Qiantang River from the top of the pagoda.
5. Meijiawu Tea Village
Hangzhou is one of China 's leading tea-producing areas, Longjing tea (Dragon Well Green Tea) is considered as China 's finest green tea. Meijiawu Tea Culture Village opened in 2003 and has become a very popular tourist attraction where you can learn the process of tea making, tasting the unique flavour of the tea while enjoying a tea performance.
6. World Leisure Expo Garden
As the main venue of the World Leisure Expo, the Garden is located at Xiang Lake Holiday Resort in Xiaoshan District with the total area of 1,200,000 Square meters. It is a leisure complex which comprises of conference hotels, entertainment facilities, exhibition, shopping and residential areas.
7. Song Dynasty Town
Song Dynasty Town is the famous theme Park featuring the Song Dynasty culture and it is a national AAAA attraction in China , it's also one of the ten newest scenic spots in Hangzhou .
8. One Lake & Three Gardens
One Lake & Three Gardens are representing the main venue of the 2006 World Leisure Expo, they are including Xiang Lake Holiday Resort, World Leisure Expo Garden , World Leisure Folk Garden and Oriental Culture Park .
9. The West Lake Museum & National Traditional Chinese Medicine Museum
West Lake Museum is a grand museum that reflects and shows the nature specialties and civilization in a completed and multiform way; Huqingyutang Traditional Chinese Medicine Museum was built by Hu Xueyan, a Qing Dynasty Businessman. The construction is typical of late Qing Dynasty style and well preserved.
10. Tea Museum & Silk Museum
China Tea Museum displays the invention, history, and culture of tea in China . Open to the public in 1991, it is the only museum in China gives the tourists a chance to know the development of tea in China ; China silk museum is a state-level specialized museum as well as the world's biggest silk museum. The Silk Museum exhibits silk history, culture, artifacts and products that for centuries have made China famous. These include ancient silk looms and woven pieces dating back more than 5,600 years. If you are interested in it, you can also use the ancient loom to experience the process of weaving.
